CLT is just 8 miles from Bank of America Stadium — one of the shorter airport-to-venue distances in MLS. A rideshare from the terminal runs $15–25. There's no direct transit connection from the airport to the stadium; rideshare or a rental car are the practical options for visitors arriving by air.
Bank of America Stadium is surrounded by downtown Charlotte garages and surface lots. Multiple city-managed decks are within a 5–10 minute walk and rates are generally reasonable for a major city. Pre-booking through SpotHero or the team website is recommended for big matches — lots fill fast for sold-out Crown matches.
Charlotte FC's Crown supporter section brings significant energy pre-match. The bars and restaurants along Stonewall St, Tryon St, and the South End neighbourhood are popular gathering spots. The stadium is in uptown Charlotte where the pre-match scene has developed quickly since the club's 2022 expansion.
The LYNX Blue Line light rail runs through uptown Charlotte with stops a short walk from Bank of America Stadium. The Stonewall and Brooklyn Village stations are both nearby. CATS provides extended service on match days — check charlottenc.gov/cats for schedules. The Blue Line connects from South End and NoDa, making it a solid option for fans across the city.
Bank of America Stadium is in the heart of uptown Charlotte, walkable from the city's hotel corridor and the adjacent South End neighbourhood. The pre-match walk through uptown is lined with bars and restaurants and has the feel of a proper matchday cityscape.
Bike parking is available near the stadium in uptown Charlotte. Charlotte's growing greenway network and bike lane system make cycling from South End, NoDa, or Plaza Midwood a viable option for experienced urban cyclists.
Accessible parking is available in the city-managed garages adjacent to the stadium — ADA spaces can be reserved in advance. The accessible drop-off zone is on Graham St near the main entrance. For accessibility services, contact Charlotte FC through charlottefc.com.
Bank of America Stadium is Charlotte FC's home ground and one of the more unusual MLS venues in the league — it's a shared NFL stadium that holds up to 74,000 for Panthers games, configured down to around 38,000 for soccer. That still makes it one of the largest dedicated soccer capacities in MLS when full, and the club has drawn strong crowds since launching in 2022.
The stadium sits just south of Charlotte's uptown, within easy walking distance of hotels, bars, and restaurants concentrated along Stonewall Street and throughout the Fourth Ward neighborhood. Public parking is available in nearby decks, and the proximity to uptown makes it easy to combine a match with dinner in the city. The covered upper deck and sizable roofline give the stadium a good noise environment when the crowd is engaged.
2 sealed water bottles are allowed into the stadium.
Outside food is not allowed
The stadium is a clear bag only venue. Guests are encouraged to limit the number of items they bring with them to the stadium.
Only (1) one of the following style and size bag, package, or container per person:
Prohibited bags include but are not limited to large purses, coolers, briefcases, backpacks, luggage of any kind, computer bags or any bag larger than the permissible size.
Email tickets@charlottefootballclub.com if you need special permissions for a medical bag to be permitted inside the stadium.
Bank of America Stadium is an NFL venue shared with the Carolina Panthers, and the soccer pitch fits reasonably well within the bowl. Lower midfield sections offer the best sightlines to the full pitch and keep you close enough to the touchline to feel connected to the action. The atmosphere at Charlotte FC games has built quickly for a newer club.
The upper bowl midfield sections at Bank of America Stadium offer a full elevated view of the pitch — the raised perspective is actually helpful for following the game’s shape. Prices drop significantly from the lower bowl. Be aware that in a large NFL stadium the upper deck can feel a notable distance from the pitch compared to soccer-specific venues.
The end zone sections in the upper deck are the clear seats to avoid — you’re distant, at a poor angle to the goal you’re looking at, and far from where most of the play happens. This is a common issue at NFL-shared soccer venues. The lower bowl end sections are better but still less ideal than midfield. Stick to midfield at any level for the best experience.
Bank of America Stadium is oriented roughly east-west, putting the south side stands in more direct afternoon sun. The north side benefits from the upper deck’s shade earlier in the afternoon. Charlotte summers are hot and humid — the shaded north side is noticeably more comfortable for afternoon kickoffs in summer.
Bank of America Stadium is open-air with no roof. Charlotte summer heat and humidity are real — afternoon games in July and August can be intense, especially in the upper bowl where there’s little shade. Afternoon thunderstorms roll through regularly in summer, so check the forecast before heading out. Spring and fall games in Charlotte are typically excellent conditions.
Section 101 - Charlotte's beloved BBQ and burger joint brings their signature smoked meats to Bank of America Stadium. The brisket sandwich with pickled jalapeños is a crowd pleaser.
Throughout the Stadium - North Carolina's iconic cherry soft drink gets its own pour station. A regional staple and the perfect non-alcoholic refreshment for a Carolina afternoon.
Concourse - The beloved Charlotte bakery brings their signature pastries and coffee to matchday. A surprisingly refined stadium option — the almond croissant is worth hunting down.
Charlotte FC plays in Bank of America Stadium, the NFL home of the Carolina Panthers — one of the largest venues hosting MLS soccer. The capacity for MLS matches is reduced to create a more intimate feel, but big games still draw enormous crowds. The stadium is a genuine NFL-grade facility in the heart of uptown Charlotte.
Different supporter groups tailgate every weekend match at the Charlotte FC Supporter Group Tailgate Lot. The lot will generally open 4 hours before kickoff.
Possibly 508 if the entire stadium is open
Charlotte FC's south end houses multiple supporter groups across sections 119–124 and the upper tier 227–231. Standing and chanting throughout the match is the norm. Non-Charlotte FC club apparel is not permitted in the supporter sections.

Check out the chants on the Mint City Collective website or watch the YouTube Channel.
